CONTENT ADVISORY

As you know, part of the mission of The Logos Theatre is to raise up the next generation of Christian communicators, and one of the ways we do this is by partnering with our Conservatory students as they bring their projects to life on stage. Claire Killiany is one of those students, and the Lord has led her to produce The Cross and the Switchblade as her Master’s Project. In this production of The Cross and the Switchblade, we see God’s powerful work of redemption in the lives of the gang members in 1950s New York. This was a generation that was ravaged by drugs and violence, and all the darkness and despair that comes with it. While it is not the typical, family-friendly fare that audiences have come to expect from The Logos Theatre, we are pleased to bring this important message to the stage, knowing that the impact of God’s miraculous work is one that should be shared with others. With that understanding, we want our audience to be aware of the heavy subject matter and intense themes in this real-life story. We also ask that no children under the age of 12 attend this production. As always, The Logos Theatre remains committed to bringing powerful, impactful gospel stories to life on stage, and hopes that each patron will see the bright light of the gospel in this true story of God’s work in the darkest of places.

New York. 1950s. When David Wilkerson senses the call of God to minister to the gangs of New York, he could never have imagined the challenges and struggles he was going to face along the way. The violence, drugs, and despair that plagues the gang members seem to overwhelm his every effort, but soon, through God’s work in the life of one young man named Nicky Cruz, David begins to see that the transformation he is working for comes only through the power of the Holy Spirit.
